Our founder, Ryan Michael Garvey, prior to forming Puget Sound Defense, worked as a criminal Deputy Prosecuting Attorney in the second biggest county in Washington State: Pierce County. As Pierce County has one of the highest per capita crime rates in the United States, Mr. Garvey sharpened his litigation and trial skills prosecuting well over 1,000 crimes in that county. He achieved unprecedented success as a litigator there and left Pierce County with an undefeated criminal trial record.

Mr. Garvey gained intimate knowledge and experience of the inner-working of how police and prosecutors handle case loads, generate criminal charges and litigate their cases. It is this truly novel approach to criminal defense work that has allowed Puget Sound Defense to be so successful in resolving our client’s cases.
